Update about the new book and new deck editions

Hello friends! With the launch for the new book Scions of 777, I included the opportunity to add a new edition of Telos Tarot of 777, large or mid-size, with a holographic effect on the card backs.

There have been some questions about what the difference is between the Telos Tarot of 777 first edition, and the new holographic edition that comes in both mid-size and large. I thought I’d sum them up here.

What is the difference between Telos Tarot of 777 first edition, and the holographic editions, besides the card backs?

The graphic above lists the differences.

To recap: the main differences are the special effects (double-sided foil vs one-sided holographic), a real paperback with 120 pages vs a stapled booklet of 60 pages, or no booklet (mid-size). There is also offset vs digital printing. Traditional Offset (used for the first edition) is more durable, as the ink sinks into the card stock. You can’t do the holographic effect with offset though. Modern Digital (used for the holographic) is more vibrant, as the ink sits on top of the card stock like enameled jewelry. You can also add the holographic effect. The first edition box has the Stele, making the box a little portable theatre or shrine. Lastly, the first edition is numbered and limited and won’t be repeated.

The award-winning first edition of Telos, numbered and limited, currently has a retail price of $77. When it is gone, it is gone for good. The costs to produce that edition were only made possible by funding it with a Kickstarter, as you cannot do traditional offset printing cost effectively in very small runs, which is what most of my printing jobs are limited to for financial reasons.

The holographic edition mid-size is currently available separately for $49, or $44 when ordered with the new Scions of 777 book. The large holographic edition is currently available to order with the book for $55. I have not made it available separately yet, though it will be added to the store at some point after the Pre-orders of the new book close.

Pre-orders are being kept open:

Because the store had some web issues during the initial days of the launch for the new book (fixed now) I decided to order books over and above what came in for the launch, and leave pre-orders open. This way I can keep it on the store as a pre-order through November for anyone who had difficulty but still wants to pre-order in order to get it for December. If for some reason suddenly a lot more orders come in, up to the amount of books I ordered with the printers, it will still show on the store but will be in back-order status. If it goes to backorder status, the book won’t be available until I print more. So please pre-order if you want the new book, or the new book and new edition, to be delivered in December.
